Namchi is emerging as a major religious and cultural tourism destination in the tourism in Sikkim. It is a home to many Buddhist pilgrimage sites like Namchi Monastery, Ralang Monastery and Tendong Hill.
It also hosts the the world’s largest statue (at 118 feet) of the Buddhist Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche, the patron saint of Sikkim.
However the most popular attraction now a days is the Siddheswara Dhaam popularly known as Char Dham which the Sikkim Government developed as “Pilgrim cum Cultural Centre”. It houses a stunning 87-ft statue of Lord Shiva along with the replicas of four Dhams (sacred Hindu Shrines) of the country, all at one place on the Solophok hilltop in Namchi.
Namchi is also the home to the Temi tea garden, Sikkim’s first Tea Garden which produces quality tea and made its own reputations in the international market.
The Central Park in the main market is like the heart of the town and a very good place to relax and hang around.
