Reportedly the wettest place on the earth, Mawsynram is situated 56 kilometers from Shillong. Mawsynram experiences an annual rainfall of 11.872 meters (about 39 feet). The major attraction in Mawsynram is a cave named Mawjymbuin. There is a massive stalagmite shaped into a Shiva linga inside the cave.
