According to the ancient sayings, a widow used to take care of a jhum cultivation in this valley encompassed by hills which had a big mustard plant in the middle of the field. Told to her in her dream by her dead husband to take special care of the mustard plant, she acted likewise. But her second husband out of envy uprooted the plant creating a hole in that place from where water oozed out to form a lake.A serene lake in the middle of nowhere is around 85 km from Aizawl. The reflection of the surrounding green forest over the clear blue lake of Tamdil is a feast for our eyes.
